Russian President Vladimir Putin states that Football World Cup starting from Thursday will give the Russian economy a boost and will put his country in the international limelight along with an economic boost to the down economy.
Russia will host the biggest soccer event for about a month starting from June 14th to July 15th where the tournament will be held in the particular handful cities Like Moscow, Petersburg, and Sochi. The opening match of the tournament will be starting with Saudi Arabia known for oil fields playing against Host Russia. Despite hosting such big event Russia will not go far in the Tournament that means local viewers will not be able to head for the matches resulting in low revenue generation.

Russia will start the tournament on Thursday by playing against Saudi Arabia, another nation known more for its oil fields than soccer fields. Regardless of the home advantage, the Russian team is not probable to progress that far in the tournament. Sorry to say, the economy is not projected to get a big boost moreover.
