Gomez scripted the lyrics with Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Mattias Larson, and Robin Fredriksson. The new song focusses on the health and well-being of her bidding adieu to past loves.

She told the song was inspired by many things that have happened in course of my life post my last album, Since the music can relate the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes from love failures in my life, depicting the stronger and better version of yourself.
