Tick borne disease(encephalitis) that harm brain spreads in England.
Public Health of England(PHE) have confirmed the tick-borne encephalitis virus. PHE found a handful of infected ticks in both the locations with one highly probable tick infected encephalitis patient.
Tick bite that can harm the brain found in two parts of England. The health body states the risk is low but the host virus might be fatal in some cases. The small parasitic arachnids are common in parts of UK due to increase in deer population. Apart from deers ticks can be even found on other animals like cats, dogs, and fox.
Ticks are also the carrier of other disease like Lyme Disease apart from tick borne encephalitis.
Besides living on deer, ticks can be found on other animals, such as cats, dogs and urban foxes which can spread the disease more rapidly. Ticks can latch on Humans while walking in long grasses or going near pet animals or deers if they are infected.
The tick born encephalitis symptoms include mild flu like symptoms, but it can damage heavely the brain and central nervous system. The ticks might have brought to England by migratory birds. Precautionary methods must be adopted while going outdoors such as wearing full body covering clothes and using repellants indoors. Care must also be taken while going near the woods grasses or pet animals.
