Shakib Al Hasan prohibited For 2 Years from All Forms of Cricket for violating Anti-Corruption Code.
As per the reports, by ESPN a year of that sentence has been suspended since the all-rounder captain of the team accepted charges of violation of anti-corruption code of International Cricket Council.
These charges are enforced by article 2.4.4 of ICC. These charges are implied when a player fails to disclose any information of being approached by bookies for corrupt conduct or practice on the field during the match.
Shakib was earlier not allowed for team practice by ICC since he was guilty of not disclosing contacts with bookies during the Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe tri nation T20 series in January in 2018.
If Shakib is found satisfactorily on conditions of suspension among other boundations and formalities ICC will allow him to resume cricket from October 29, 2020.
Shakib said I am sad to have been banned from the game I love, but I accept my sanction of not reporting the approach. The ICC ACU allows players to actively participate in fight against corruption which I failed to do as my duty at that instance.
